The rate on the Verus Plus Checking and Interest Checking accounts is determined at bank discretion and may change daily. We use the daily balance method to calculate interest on the account. The period we use is the statement cycle. The interest will be compounded and credited to the account each statement cycle. Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit noncash items (for example, checks). Fees could reduce earnings.

All funds in a “noninterest-bearing transaction account” are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules. The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). V-Rewards Checking Member FDIC. Reward rates of 3.00% Annual Percentage Yield (APY) paid on balances between one penny and $15,000, and 0.20% APY paid on all amounts above $15,000 each cycle the minimum qualifications are met. If you do not meet the qualifications per cycle, your account will still function as a free checking account earning a Base Rate of 0.05% APY, however, it will not receive ATM fee refunds for that time period. Rates as of April 20, 2011. We may change the interest rate and APY at any time after the account is opened. No minimum balance required. However, you must deposit $100 to open this account.
